The 4th AGM, including fundraising dinner/dance was held at the Holiday Inn, Edison, New Jersy. Around 200 participants took part in the event from all around the world including North America, Asia, Europe, Australia/NZ and Sri Lanka.
CME lectures were held during the morning of the event.
Chief Guest Prof.Parameswaran, R.Mathiyalagan form UK alumni, S.Raviraj form Sri Lanka Alumni and G.Subakumar and his enthusiastic team form NZ all grace the occasion.
Masters of Ceremony Mathiyalagan and Gerard kept the audience to their toes. The AGM started with the President’s speech (Dr.Nanthakumar) followed by Secretary speech and presentation and approval of previous AGM minutes. This was followed by treasure’s (Dr.Pathmarajah) report.
Dr.Jeyasakthi Thayaparan, introduced our Chief Guest Prof. Parameswaran who’s service to the faculty and his dedication for teaching were recognized. A plaque was presented to him by the president. This was followed by Chief Guest speech.
A plaque was presented to Dr.Raviraj by Dr.Nanthakumar in appreciation to his service to the students at the Jaffna Medical Faculty and the community in Jaffna.
New committee was elected and introduced to the audience by Dr.Malathy. This was followed by acceptance speech by the incoming president Dr.Selvaratnam.
Dr.Mathiyalagan and Dr.Subakumar were able to explain the activities of the alumni association in their respected countries UK and NZ. At this point it was decided to have the next AGM/ Dinner meeting in Auckland NZ.
Sumptuous dinner was served with Indian and Italian cuisine. This was followed by Dance till 1.30 am.
The following day the alumni set out on a 5 day cruise trip from NY to Bahamas with total of 8 hrs. CME.

The MECOP is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for the physicians and personal responsibility for the contents, quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity. The MECOP designates this educational activity for maximum of 4 AMA/PRA Category I Credit. Physicians only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
