The 10th JMFOA AGM/ Scientific session was held at the newly constructed Hoover Auditorium at the Jaffna Medical Faculty. The event was organized jointly by all the chapters of JMFOA as well as the Local Alumni.
The Chief Guest was Professor Jane Dacre, BSc. MBBS, MD, FRCP, FHEA elected President of Royal College Physicians UK, who delivered the ‘Hoover Memorial Lecture on July 18, 2014.
The Scientific Session was held successfully with Lectures and Panel Discussions on various important topics by speakers in their expertise field locally and internationally.
Cultural show was beautifully performed by talented Medical students as well as children of the overseas alumni.
Recognition awards as well as prizes were given to the speakers and major contributors as well as winners of the scientific paper/poster presentation. Medical Students who won the 2014 Carlo Fonseka Physiology challenge were also recognized with cash awards.

The CME activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint sponsorship of the Medical Education Council of Pensacola (MECOP) and Jaffna Medical Faculty Overseas Alumni (JMFOA). The MECOP is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for the physicians and personal responsibility for the contents, quality and scientific integrity of this CME activity. The MECOP designates this educational activity for maximum of 4 AMA/PRA Category I Credit. Physicians only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
